OPEN STITCH


Open stitch sessions are always free and always fun. These sessions are scheduled regularly to allow individuals to come together to share their love of fiber arts. Participants are invited to bring the project of their choosing and meet other fiber artists for two hours of creative fun.

Stitch & Sandwich – 11:00 to 2:00 – meets the 3rd Sat. of every month.  Bring your sandwich and the shop provides chips and drink.  Bring your project to work on and enjoy the social time

*Size 50 knitting needles are sold here for the Broomstick Class

We have started collecting baby blankets for ERC (blankets are given to new moms who need a little extra help from the community). We can provide some yarn for the blankets.  They can be knitted/crocheted, and any size.

Coming in August – On Wednesday, August 8th Yak n Yarn will be hosting a Kansas Children's Service League representative who will be speaking about the Shaken Baby Syndrome and our participation in knitting and crocheting purple baby hats.  The presentation begins at 3:00.  Several of you have already started knitting and crocheting purple hats ---THANK YOU!!!

We offer private classes in knitting, crocheting, weaving, and many others. Please call the shop 272-9276 to set up your session. 
 
WEATHER POLICY – IF SCHOOL DISTRICT #501 IS CLOSED DUE TO ICE OR SNOW THE SHOP WILL BE CLOSED.  WE WILL RESCHEDULE ANY CLASS THAT WILL BE CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER!

Private Classes are available, a one-on-one time with the instructor.  You determine the day and time.  Call the shop 272-9276 to set up a time.  Bring your own pattern or learn a special stitch, whatever you want to learn.  The Fee is determined by the length of the session.

BEGINNING CROCHET is scheduled to meet your availability.  Call the shop at 785-272-9276 to set up class time.  2 hr. class session is $20.  This is a private class with you and an instructor or if you are stuck and need help with a crochet pattern you are working on call and we will set up a time.  Fee: $15 for 1 hour of instruction.

Classes

Classes in knitting, crochet, weaving, felting, tatting, jewelry making and embroidery are being scheduled. Most classes will vary from 1 - 5 or more sessions once a week. Class fees may be paid in person or by phone. Supplies for all classes must be purchased at Yak 'n Yarn.
